The California Highway Patrol says a pedestrian was hit and killed by a car in Goleta Tuesday night.

It happened at about 8:45 p.m. on Hollister Avenue, just west of Arboleda Road.

The CHP says the man was hit after walking into the westbound lane of Hollister Avenue. He later died
