The evacuation order has been lifted for those affected by the Lookout fire.
Red Cross will now be closing the evacuation point located at the Wake Center at 300 North Turnpike.
The fire broke out around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday in the Painted Cave Area, just north of Santa Barbara.
Posted 4:47 PM 10/17/2012 : Residents evacuated due to Lookout Fire can return home at 5 p.m.
People who were ordered to evacuate their homes due to the Lookout Fire Wednesday will be allowed to return home at 5 p.m., the Santa Barbara County Fire Department announced. Anyone who does not live in that area is asked to stay out.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the Lookout Fire burning in the Painted Cave area is now 45 percent contained. There are 300 fire personnel on scene.

The Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management released an advisory Wednesday stating 40 structures have been evacuated and another 60 structures are at risk because of the Lookout Fire.
They're currently reporting the fire is 10% contained, and around 25 acres have burned.

The Lookout Fire is burning in the same area where the deadly Painted Cave Fire destroyed more than 400 homes back in 1990.
It broke out on a hot, dry and windy day, just like the weather has been on the Central Coast lately.
