A ridge is slowly building into the west as a weak low pressure system drops south off southern California. Wind flow will stay weakly offshore as a result and high temps will rise to near normal levels, at the coast near 70 degree highs return despite a cold start Wednesday morning. (More)

A gale warning is in effect until 3 a.m. Sunday for the Central Coast's outer waters. Northwest winds are expected between 15-20 knots, gusting up to 25 knots through early Sunday morning. Seas are expected between 8-11 feet. A gale warning is also in effect between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m. Saturday for the Santa Barbara Channel. Winds between 20-30 knots, gusting up to 35 knots, out of the Northwest are forecasted. Seas should be between 8-11 feet.

A Frost advisory is in effect between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. Sunday. Temperatures may range between 29 and 32 degrees for 2-4 hours between the hours of 1 a.m. and 9 am. Sunday morning. Temperatures can dip below 29 degrees. Frost can be damaging to plants and can pose serious risks to people and pets.

A wind advisory is in effect until 9 p.m. this evening for the Central Coast. Northwest winds between 20-30 mph, gusting up to 40 mph, are expected. Winds up to 45 mph are forecasted for the San Luis Obispo County Mountains. The strongest winds will be below the canyons and passes of the Santa Ynez range and they will diminish tonight. Wind gusts will make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
