A low pressure system off the Northern California coastline will slide south and produce showers as far south as Monterey County, however the local impact will be diminished. For the Central Coast expect a lot more cloud cover on Thursday and areas of drizzle (or even a light shower), and some coastal areas will see little clearing while the coastal and interior valleys have a party cloudy day. Temperatures will take a big tumble. Inland highs fall into the 80s (from the 90 and 100 range they have been hovering in) and coastal valleys will drop into the 70s while beaches likely see lower 60s. More overnight clouds Thursday into Friday with better afternoon clearing on Friday, and perhaps a few degrees of warming over Thursday's highs. High pressure builds back in over the weekend to return interior temps back into the 90s before the weekend ends and that ridge looks to stay in place much of next week.

A cool-down will be developing over the next few days as a low pressure system passes us to the north. In Northern CA rain is likely but around here the cold front will likely only increase clouds and at best produce some spots of drizzle at the coast with... Read Story ›

A ridge of high pressure causing the baking heat is starting to shift to more southwesterly flow at the mid and upper levels. That'll have a few impacts: it'll cool slightly but also allow subtropical moisture to sneak into the Central Coast in the form of higher humidity and... Read Story ›
