    SB Co. Animal Services reports outbreak of Parvovirus in Santa Maria area

    Santa Barbara County Animal Services is warning pet owners to make sure their dogs are vaccinated after a recent spike in the number of Parvovirus cases in the northern part of the county.

    Guide dog raised in Santa Barbara helped blind owner escape from World Trade Center

    It's a tale of survival, teamwork and the bond between one man and his dog. Michael Hingson is blind. He was working as a sales manager on the 78th floor of the World Trade Center's Tower One on 9/11, and escaped with the help of his guide dog Roselle, who was raised in Santa Barbara.

    Your Family Pet: Flaco

    Flaco is a 2-year-old German Shepard mix who currently calls San Luis Obispo County Animal shelter home. Flaco could use some basic obedience training but he walks well on a leash and gets along great with other dogs.

    At the San Luis Obispo County Animal Shelter 4-year-old Kramer is recovering from eye surgery, but he has been nursed back to health and is ready to go home. Kramer is very mellow and he loves to be held. He also likes to give hugs! Kramer gets along well with cats and dogs.
