Paso Robles is now a "bike-friendly" community.
The League of American Bicyclists gives the distinction to communities working to improve bike path conditions and promote cycling.
Paso recently opened a new off-street bike network along River Road.
The city, county ride-share and the SLO County Bike Coalition also started a bike safety training program with the Paso Robles School District for kids. It starts in the fall.

This week is National Police Week and Vandenberg Air Force Base has took a light-hearted approach today to raise money for families of fallen officers.
May 15th is Peace Officer Memorial Day, with the whole week as Police Week.
The Air Force base had a "jail and bail" event Monday. People on base could put their boss, supervisor, or friend in jail.
It costs $10 for 10 minutes in the cell.

Bike to work week kicks off in San Luis Obispo County Monday.

A pickup truck and a semi collided in Santa Maria on Thursday.
