Isla Vista residents react to 4.8 earthquake

Prescribed burn planned near Camp Roberts Wednesday

Smoke may be visible near Camp Roberts Wednesday.
Camp Roberts Fire and Emergency Services is planning a prescribed burn in the area.
Officials say around 4,000 acres will be burned, weather permitting, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The burn will help remove excess grass on the National Guard's post in northern San Luis Obispo County.

Health and Wellness Fair happening Wednesday

The community is invited to attend a free Health and Wellness Fair Wednesday.
The fair, hosted by the Santa Maria Terrace, includes vendors, blood pressure screenings, a walker and wheelchair clinic, and Medicare information.

CHP offering free child safety seat checkups this weekend

The California Highway Patrol and Target are teaming up to offer free child passenger safety seat checkups.
The checkups are happening Saturday at the San Luis Obispo Target from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
CHP says four out of five child car seats are not properly installed or adjusted.
