Winds will be a local concern for parts of the Central Coast into Saturday morning. There is a wind advisory for the higher elevations, passes and canyons in Santa Barbara county thru Saturday morning for N winds 20-30 with gusts to 40-50mph.
There is also a wind advisory for the west-facing Central Coast into this evening, and an air quality alert for the Nipomo Mesa for blowing dust and wind.
A minor weather roller coaster for the weekend, Saturday looks mild with partly cloudy skies. Beaches in the 70s with coastal valleys in the mid to upper 70s and inland mid-80s. This is due to a small ridge in the upper air pattern, but it is a small and temporary feature.
Sunday afternoon and evening showers look to return to the Central Coast as a front pushes into the area. It is part of a larger trough which will also cool temps and could continue showers into early Monday.
Some cold unstable air aloft could even deliver a few showers Tuesday as well but chances look to be about 10-20%.
Temps will start some slow warming for the second part of next week but the most noticeable increases will be in the interior where temps return to near 80.
