An Arroyo Grande girl is giving back to those in need.
Fairgrove Elementary second grader Stella Burpee started making and selling bracelets through Facebook for $1 each.
Her mom says Stella had hoped to be able to purchase four $20 gift cards, but due to community support, was able to purchase 31.
"I wanted to give them a $20 card for people in need and I wanted to make sure they had all the supplies they need for this tough time," Stella, 8, said.
The purchased gift cards were given to Stella's principal, who could then decide which families needed them most.
They were distributed on Friday.
Stella's mom, Sabrina, says Grocery Outlet also donated some gift cards to the cause.
Klondike Pizza also presented Stella with a Good Citizen Award for outstanding community service and kindness.
