Cal Poly students participated in the Human Powered Speed Challenge and broke the U.S. collegiate record seven times.

Students made their own human powered bicycle for the race.

On Thursday, their vehicle got up to 66 miles per hour and broke the record. However, it wasn't officially counted because of wind.

The team raced again on Saturday and beat the record with 63 miles per hour.

Cal Poly broke the record seven out of the 10 times they raced.
