Mild temps linger

Posted
and last updated

The weekend was very hot, yesterday we cooled off and today additional cooling took place. Onshore flow was in place and the marine depth allowed for clouds in the interior valleys this morning as well.

A minor and slow warming trend takes place the rest of the week, and even at the peak inland temps likely reach the lower 90s, a few degrees below seasonal averages.

At the coast more night and morning low clouds with partial clearing, today that clearing worked out well with beaches getting sun but the coastal clouds are poised just off the coast for a quick return this evening.

The overall pattern features a weak trough of low pressure along the California Coast. The shape of the upper air pattern meanders a bit into the weekend but no large amplification takes place so while temps warm, I doubt it is dramatic.

Looking at modeling, to me at this point looks like next week could be very similar.
