The San Luis Obispo Fire Department wants to make sure residents are prepared for the next emergency.
Fire officals held a workshop Thursday night where they offered tips on how to survive all sorts of disasters.
Officials asked questions like ‘Do you have enough food, water, medicine, batteries, pet food and other essential items to last you three days when there aren't public utilities available?’
“We really appreciate all the support we've had from the public and it's incredibly important that our community members not only take this information and review it but they put it into action and they build those kits and they make those plans so they're as best prepared as they can be," said San Luis Obispo Fire Chief Kieth Aggson.
The fire department has informational fliers available online that are free to download on their website.
