The holiday spirit hasn’t been totally squashed by the Thomas Fire, which is now the largest fire in California’s history.

Santa and his counterpart, Mrs. Claus, visited firefighters at the Ventura base camp early Sunday morning.

The dynamic duo said they’d visit both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, in order to visit all of the nearly 2,000 firefighters still working to completely contain the fire.

The Thomas Fire has burned 273,400 acres and sits at 70 percent containment. Earlier, it was reported the containment was at 78 percent, however, CAL FIRE confirmed that was a typo.

Many of them hopped in a photo and looked pretty happy about the surprise.
