Lompoc police investigating deadly stabbing

The Lompoc Police Department is investigating a stabbing at Barkin Park on Summerwood Lane Tuesday morning.

Police say Theophus Lee Bennett, 33, called police after he had been stabbed multiple times. He was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries.

Investigators say Bennett was a transient who had been staying at the Bridge House shelter. They say he was last seen at the McDonald’s on H Street at 5:30 a.m. that day.

No arrests have been made.

Police are asking anyone who saw anything that could aid in their investigation or who may have home surveillance video of the area around the time of the homicide to contact the Lompoc Police Department at (805) 875-8121 or (805) 875-8123. Police say tips can be made anonymously.
