Cuesta College to become a smoke-free campus

Posted

Cuesta College will soon be a completely smoke and tobacco-free campus.

Currently, smoking is permitted only in designated areas of the San Luis Obispo and North County campuses. Beginning Jan. 1, 2019, smoking and tobacco use will no longer be anywhere at the college.

To educate students and staff about the new policy, the San Luis Obispo campus will hold a cigarette butt clean-up event on April 18 from 11 a.m. to noon.

The college is also partnering with the San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department to offer a free, six-week smoking cessation course beginning April 11. To register, click here.
