Paso Robles Joint Unified School District officials say there was a lack of yard duty supervision during the lunch break at Georgia Brown Elementary on Monday but the issue has since been resolved.

District officials say it was a result of a miscommunication, only happened once and that yard duty supervision is continuing at all of its schools as usual.

School officials say no students were injured during the unsupervised recess time.

Dr. Eusebio Martinez, the guidance specialist at Georgia Brown, sent the following message to parents:
"We understand there have been concerns regarding student supervision during lunch recess this past Monday. We would like to take a moment to address this unfortunate situation.
Due to a miscommunication, there was indeed a lack of supervision for a portion of lunch recess this past Monday. We acknowledge that this should not ever be the case, as student safety and supervision is our number one priority. As such, we have cleared any and all misunderstandings and we are
at full force for supervision and have been since Tuesday.
We will continue to work diligently toward providing a safe learning environment at Georgia Brown and appreciate your support of our students and staff."
