Pirate’s Cove and Cave Landing in Avila Beach are breathtaking and popular spots, but parking there has known to be a nuisance in the past and San Luis Obispo County officials are looking for public input to change it.

The parking lot is deeply rutted with erosion and is often congested during the summer.

The area is also often used for partying and other elicit activities resulting in medical calls and injury reports.

The area contains sensitive archaeological resources and is a Native American sacred site, so in response to public concerns, the County will be holding a public workshop to get feedback on what specifically needs to be addressed.

The workshop will be April 25 at the PG&E Community Center, 6588 Ontario Road in San Luis Obispo.

It begins at 6 p.m.
