UPDATE – Santa Barbara police say they are investigating the death as a suicide.
A jogger reportedly found the body Tuesday morning.
Police say the body has been identified as a male from the Santa Barbara area.
A death investigation is underway in Santa Barbara after a body was found near Sterns Wharf Tuesday morning.
Santa Barbara police say officers were dispatched to the beach south of the skate park just after 6:45 a.m. where someone was reportedly found unconscious.
First responders attempted CPR on the person.
The person’s name and age have not been released.
Police say they do not have reason to believe the death is suspicious at this time however officers will conduct a full investigation.
