A skateboarder was hospitalized Friday with major injuries after crashing into the side of a car in Pismo Beach, police say.
It happened just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of Oak Park Boulevard and James Way.
Pismo Beach police say the skateboarder, identified as a 20-year-old man from Arroyo Grande, was coming down James Way onto Oak Park Boulevard and was unable to stop.
He then came off the sidewalk and crashed into the side of a car crossing the intersection. Police say the driver had a green light and was not cited.
The skateboarder was transferred to the hospital with what were described as major injuries.
