Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a report of an overturned catamaran near Gaviota State Beach around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
When two engine companies and a water rescue team arrived, all three men, estimated to be in their 30’s, were in the water and their boat was overturned, authorities say.
Fire crews say a nearby boat assisted rescue teams in getting the men ashore. Santa Barbara County fire officials say all three men had symptoms of mild hypothermia but refused medical treatment.
Santa Barbara County and state lifeguards retrieved the catamaran from the ocean.
