Smoke may be visible in Atascadero Tuesday due to a training burn involving local firefighters.
The burn is scheduled from between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at two buildings on the 1600 block of Aguacita Avenue.
The buildings were donated by the property owner for the purpose of the training.
The objective: "To provide a realistic/controlled environment where structural firefighting tactics and strategies can be developed."
Firefighters from CAL FIRE, Atascadero Fire and Santa Margarita Fire will be taking part.
The Air Pollution Control District has approved the training, weather permitting, officials say.
