The Charles Paddock Zoo’s newest additions just hatched.

Two Caribbean flamingos and a clutch of burrowing owls chicks hatched this month, according to zoo officials.

The zoo has been breeding Caribbean flamingos over the past three years and the birds recently laid 11 eggs. Two of them hatched recently.

Zoo director Alan Baker says not all of the eggs will hatch and not all of them are fertile but they are thrilled about their new arrivals.

The fuzzy, white baby flamingos can be spotted on display with the rest of the flock.

In addition to the baby flamingos, the zoo’s burrowing owls exhibit is about to get bigger with the arrival of a clutch of babies.

Burrowing owls are rarely seen in the wild because their habitat has largely been lost, according to Baker.

The baby owls will stay in the next for approximately six weeks so you’ll have to wait a while to see the fuzzy little birds.
