The names of two people killed in a crash Saturday night near Highway 166 have been released by authorities.

The California Highway Patrol has identified them as Armando Morin, 28, and Salvadror Angulo Jr., 27, both of Santa Maria.

Investigators say they were heading southbound on South Thompson Avenue, north of Wineman Road, around 10:40 p.m. when the silver Lexus they were in went off the west side of the road.

Officials say Morin, the driver, over-corrected, causing the car to overturn.

One of the men was ejected out of the vehicle and died at the scene, authorities say.

CHP says the other man was able to get himself out of the vehicle and was alive when officers arrived, but died while paramedics were working on him.

It’s unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
