Lompoc police investigate potential shooting

Posted

Lompoc Police are investigating reports of a shooting Saturday night.

Sgt. Allen Chisholm said Sunday that officers were called to the intersection of Prune Avenue and T Street for a shooting around 8:15 p.m. Saturday.

Witnesses were not cooperative, according to Chisholm, and the investigation stalled.

By Sunday morning, officers received a tip through their app. Chisholm said he thought the information led officers to a shell casing.

No victims were found and no property appeared damaged, according to Chisholm.

Information obtained from witnesses indicates there was a group altercation that involved debris being thrown.

Chisholm said the neighborhood doesn’t typically experience any major disturbances.

Police did not obtain a suspect description. Chisholm encouraged anyone with information to submit a tip through the Lompoc Police Department app.
