Sheriff: Man wanted for assaulting ex-girlfriend and her 76-year-old housemate

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man suspected of domestic battery and elder abuse.

Nicholas Jay Castillo has been on the run for nearly a month. On May 6, investigators say the 24-year-old forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s home on Chandler St. near Magna Vista St. between Goleta and Santa Barbara. He allegedly assaulted his former girlfriend and, in the process, assaulted a 76-year-old female housemate before leaving.

Castillo is a local mixed martial arts instructor. He has ties to Goleta, Santa Barbara and the Los Angeles area. He is wanted on suspicion of burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery and elder abuse.
