UPDATE (12:44 a.m.) – The final election night update shows "yes" votes for Measure A at nearly 53 percent. Ballot counting will continue on Wednesday.

Measure A, a parcel tax for property owners in Cambria, is cutting it close in election results Tuesday night.

This measure would set aside a special tax for the Cambria Community Services District at $62.15 per-year to pay for three full-time firefighters at the Cambria Fire Department. If it does not pass, three firefighters would likely be laid off by June 30.

As of 11:30 p.m., with one out of three precincts reporting voters who chose "yes" for the special tax reached 52 percent.

The measure needs a two-thirds majority vote to pass.
