The annual Youth Summit kicked off Wednesday in Santa Maria.
The theme of this year’s summit was Summer Jobs, Careers and Leadership.
Employers and county workers helped students connect with resources to start their first jobs.
The event had a panel discussion and employers gave advice on how to be successful at a first job.
The main event was a Keynote presentation by Arel Moodie, an American motivational speaker who grew up on welfare in Brooklyn, New York. He built a million dollar event production and education company by the time he was 30.
