Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo was crowded with cars Friday evening thanks to the tens of thousands of people in town for Cal Poly commencement.
It was slow-and-go in both directions of the highway through the city starting in the late afternoon. Cal Poly estimates graduation weekend brings in 40,000 visitors.
There was a two-car, non-injury crash northbound at the Broad St. off-ramp. Both cars were in the center divider. However, that crash wouldn’t have directly affected southbound driving.
