Two separate crashes involving multiple vehicles were backing up traffic on northbound Highway 101 in Pismo Beach Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crashes happened within minutes of each other around 8:50 a.m. on the northbound side of the highway near the Price Street offramp.
As many as seven vehicles were said to be involved.
Drivers in the area were reporting traffic was at a standstill shortly after 9 a.m.
Emergency crews were on scene but the extent of any injuries to those involved was not immediately known.
