Possession or use of fireworks is not authorized in Los Padres National Forrest, this includes Safe and Sane fireworks.
Rangers and law enforcement officers patrolling the forest will be strictly enforcing this law, any violation could result in a $5,000 fine or six months in jail. Also, anyone who causes a wildfire is responsible for all costs related to putting out the fire.
The U.S. Forest Service said in a press release that a California Campfire Permit is required when visitors have a campfire or are using lanterns, portable stoves that use gas, jellied petroleum or pressurized liquid fuel. Any flammable material must be within five feet from the campfire and a responsible person with a shovel must be present when the fire or a stove is in use.
