Daytime highs will be on the cooler side Tuesday and remain that way through Independence Day.
The beaches will be in the 60s Tuesday, but before that, marine layer will cover most of the coastline and likely stay there through the afternoon and evening. Like Monday, coastlines could be stubborn for sunshine and clear skies.
Coastal valley temperatures will be slightly warmer and in the 70s. Expect late morning and early afternoon clearing after a foggy morning. For the inland valleys, daytime highs won’t vary much from the coastal valley temperatures. Interior portions will range from the mid-70s to the low 80s, with the exception of Cuyama, which could reach a high of 90 degrees.
A trough of low pressure is keeping temperatures below seasonal averages through the Fourth of July, but by Friday expect a spike. Triple digits are in the forecast for the inland valleys and temperatures in the 90s are likely for the coastal valleys.
