If you’re looking to improve your cooking skills, Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo has a new class you may be interested in.
The Culinary Arts Program is now offering a Certificate of Specialization starting in August.
The program doesn’t have any pre-requisites and can be finished in a semester.
Cuesta is partnering with the California Conservation Corps to use their facilities.
Students will walk away with more specialized cooking skills that they can use to get a job or to simply upgrade their meals at home.
"It helps them with lifelong skills. I mean, everybody can use being a better cook," said Cherie Moore, Cuesta College Nutrition Department.
The lab course also teaches students how to cook for people with allergies and dietary restrictions.
Faculty members say they can help line up jobs at local restaurants when students finish their certificates.
