The Pismo Preserve will soon be fully open to the public.
The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County says it’s ready to start building a parking lot that will give people access to the preserve seven days a week.
When the stretch of coastline land was bought, officials didn’t know a historic Chumash cemetery was on the property, which prompted a complete redesign of the parking lot.
Builders are still working to finish funding for the parking lot but expect to break ground on it this summer.
