Two people were badly hurt from a rollover crash just after 11 a.m. on Saturday along Highway 41 near the ‘Y’ intersection.

According to California Highway Patrol, the driver of a Chevy Tahoe was southbound and misjudged a curve, sending it off the road and rolling twice.

The 19-year-old male driver and 19-year-old female occupant, both from Merced, were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. CHP credits this as the reason they survived.

Both suffered significant injuries. The woman had major lacerations and broke bones. She was flown to Sierra Vista Hospital in San Luis Obispo.

The man also received fractures from the crash. He was taken to Sierra Vista as well.

Drugs or alcohol are not factors in this crash.
