Morro Bay Police Chief Gregory Allen is resigning.
According to city officials, Allen’s last day will be Aug. 17, 2018.
Allen has served as the city’s police chief for a little more than a year. He was sworn in on June 2, 2017.
Police Commander Jody Cox has been named Acting Police Chief while the city searches for a permanent replacement.
