Betty’s Fabrics to close San Luis Obispo store next month

One of the longest-standing fabric stores on the Central Coast is closing its doors for good. Betty’s Fabrics in San Luis Obispo is set to close in August. Betty Pillkington is 91-years-old and has been a Central Coast business owner for decades. She operated fabric stores in San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, Lompoc and Santa Barbara. She closed her other locations in past years. The San Luis Obispo store is the last one in business. An employee tells KSBY the tentative closing date is August 15.
