Friends and family celebrated the life of Thomas Dutart on Sunday, the victim of a fatal stabbing in Santa Maria in June.
The 82-year-old man was killed at his home located in the quiet community on the 1700 block of South Thornburg Street on June 20. No one has been arrested in connection with his death.
Dutart’s memorial took place at the Pismo Beach Veteran’s Memorial building.
His friends and family played jazz music and danced to reflect his love for music.
The theme of the celebration was red, white and blue — an honor of his birthday which is on the 4th of July.
The homicide investigation is still ongoing. Police have released few details about the incident.
