A 21-year-old man was rescued near Sands Beach Saturday morning, according to fire officials.
Santa Barbara County Fire says the man was kayaking but had drifted too far off-shore.
The man is reportedly a UCSB student.
The SBC Water Rescue Unit pulled him to safety on UCSB’s campus. Fire officials say he wasn’t in distress or suffering from hypothermia, and no injuries were reported.
