Officials with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department rescued a father and son near La Cumbre Peak Saturday afternoon.
First responders received a call about two hikers in distress around 12:30 p.m.
A helicopter rescue team located the hikers among the brush and lowered two fire paramedics to rescue them, officials say.
The hikers, determined to be a man in his 50’s and his teenage son, were flown to Santa Barbara Airport to be transported to Cottage Hospital. The two suffered non-life threatening injuries including dehydration and exposure to heat.
