Travelers going to and from Denver, CO out of Santa Barbara Airport will now have another airline fly.

Airport officials announced Monday that Frontier Airlines will now offer direct flights to Denver starting the following day, Tuesday, Aug. 21.

A round-trip ticket starts at $120.

Frontier Airlines will have flights to Denver on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Flights departing from SBA will take off at 11:57 a.m. PST and arrive at DEN at 3:27 p.m. MDT. The flight from DEN to SBA departs at 8:59 a.m. MDT and arrives 10:37 a.m. PST.

United Airlines has had flights between Santa Barbara and Denver for a number of years.

“Denver has proven to be a popular destination from SBA, with passenger loads steadily increasing year over year,” said airport director, Hazel Johns. “Added carriers and flight options help to keep pricing competitive for our outbound travelers, underscoring the ease and convenience of using SBA as the departure airport of choice.”

Airport officials say there’s been a 16 percent increase in passengers at SBA over the past two years.
