Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after crashing in Santa Barbara

A 31-year-old man was airlifted to Cottage Hospital after getting in a motorcycle crash in Santa Barbara. 

Santa Barbara County’s Fire Department Public Information Office Dave Zaniboni said the fire department got a call at 10:02 a.m. Sunday about a large group of a motorcyclist on West Camino Cielo. 

Zaniboni said one of the motorcyclists lost control and went 15 feet over to the side of the road. 

The driver sustained major injuries from the crash. 

Zaniboni said three engines, a helicopter and the Santa Barbara County’s Sheriffs Search and Rescue team responded to the incident. 

Two fire medics were hoisted down to the patient and took him to Cottage Hospital. 

No other motorcyclist were injured.
