Felony charges have been filed against a Port Hueneme woman accused of being under the influence when she crash her car near Buellton Friday night, killing one of her passengers and injuring the other.

The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office say Sheri Ann Craig, 51, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs causing injury.

The charges stem from the August 24 crash on eastbound Highway 246 east of Williams Ranch.

The California Highway Patrol reports Craig’s Honda Civic drifted into the center median and then rolled multiple times.

One of her passengers died in the crash. Craig and the other passenger reportedly suffered minor injuries. All were said to have been wearing seatbelts.

Craig remained in custody Wednesday at Santa Barbara County Jail with bail set at $100,000, according to the DA’s Office.

She is due back in court Thursday.
