The Cuesta Cross Country Team kicked off its fall season Friday with the Tour de Cuesta.
Teams from across the state came out to compete in the 5K and four-mile races. The men’s team finished fifth, led by Steven Youngblood.
The women’s team did not score, but was led by freshmen Mattie Lindsey and Kayla Shaw. The head coach says he was focused on using the race as a fitness gauge and team builder.
Cuesta’s next race is September 14 at the SoCal Preview Meet.
