Universal Studios Hollywood’s iconic "Jurassic Park-The Ride" will become extinct on Labor Day.
The ride is closing to make way for the "Jurassic World Ride," which is scheduled to open in 2019.
"Jurassic Park-The Ride" first opened in 1996, featuring lifelike animatronic dinosaurs and special effects not seen in other thrill rides.
Theme park officials say the "Jurassic World Ride" will be a more modern and technologically advanced version of the ride.
The Jurassic Cove restaurant and Jurassic Outfitters retail store will also close but will reopen with the new attraction in 2019.
"Jurassic Park-The Ride" officially closes when the park closes at 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 3.
