Police searching for man accused of using counterfeit bills in San Luis Obispo

Posted

San Luis Obispo Police are searching for a man who is suspected of using counterfeit bills at a Chevron gas station on Broad Street in San Luis Obispo on Friday.

Officials say he used two fake $20 bills while making his purchase.

Locally, this is the fourth report of counterfeit bill use in the last two months. In late August, police say a Santa Maria teen tried to use fake money at school.

About a week before that report, San Luis Obispo Police was searching for a man accused of using fake money at the Madonna Inn.

In early August, counterfeit money was used at several businesses in Cambria and San Simeon.
