AmpSurf hosted its annual 9/11 Paddle Out Tuesday in Pismo Beach.
About a dozen surfers paddled out beyond the ocean break and formed a circle in the water. They then released a wreath to honor those who lost their lives on September 11th.
"It’s that time to memorialize those that we lost that day at 9/11, and all those who have sacrificed since. Not only the service men and women, but all of our firefighters and first responders," said Dana Cummings, Founder and Director of AmpSurf.
AmpSurf paddle outs were also held in Massachusetts and New York. All three were held at 10:28 a.m., marking the time the North Tower collapsed in New York.
