According to ECOSLO,  last year, nearly 1,400 San Luis Obispo County community members volunteered and they removed 6,400 pounds of trash and recyclables. They said the top three items picked up last year were cigarette butts, pieces of plastic and food wrappers.

Participants were encouraged to bring grocery bags for reuse, a bucket and gloves.
