Construction work on Main Street in Templeton begins

Posted

Construction work to improve Main Street in Templeton is underway.

Starting Monday, Public Works is repaving Main Street and reconstructing bulb-outs and drains.

The road work means that 8th Street west of Main Street will be closed through Oct. 26. Flaggers will help drivers through a detour to access Templeton Elementary School.

Main Street will stay open in both directions during this time. More work on Main Street will continue through the end of the year.

The $1.6 million project is paid through San Luis Obispo County Road Maintenance funds and the California gas tax increases that went into effect in January.
