Santa Maria deputies stop commercial burglary

Deputies arrested a man for attempted burglary at a Santa Maria Business early Black Friday morning.

The Sheriff’s Office said someone called to report seeing a man using bolt cutters to break into a business on the 4800 block of South Bradley Road at approximately 1:40 a.m. Friday morning.

Deputies arrived to find Victor Darnell Jefferson, 39 of Bay Point, crawling out of the business while carrying a large bag.

He took off and deputies chased him before apprehending him and recovering around $3,400 worth of stolen items.

He was arrested and booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail.
