A local brewery is offering free lunches to federal government employees impacted by the partial government shutdown.

7Sisters Brewing Co. in San Luis Obispo is offering free grilled cheese sandwiches to furloughed federal employees beginning Friday. The deal will last until the government reopens.

According to a press release, the owners of 7Sisters Brewing Co., Steve Van Middlesworth and Emily Taylor, are both government employees.

“We have both been furloughed before, and we know how hard it can be to make ends meet, especially around the holidays,” said Van Middlesworth.

Federal employees who aren’t being paid can get a classic, caprese, or sweet and savory grilled cheese sandwich and side salad by showing their federal ID card.

7Sisters Brewing co. is located at 181 Tank Farm Road, Suite 110 in San Luis Obispo.
